Inchoative Reduplication
Inchoative refers to a change of state expressing the beginning of a state or action, typically one occurring of its own accord. Only the strong-root involves reduplication. Weak-roots receive a suffix to designate the inchoative aspect.
- ƛ̓aq, hot.
- ƛ̓aɁaq, it got hot.
- q̓eʕ, tight within.
- q̓eɁeʕ, it got inserted
- c̓eɬ, cold to perception.
- c̓eɁeɬ, it got cold.
- ƛ̓il, still.
- ƛ̓lip, it stopped.
