Third Person Plural Reduplication
Third person plural is indicated with an infix of the reduplicated stressed vowel preceded by a glottal stop. The glottal stop and reduplicated vowel follow the stressed vowel. This diagram illustrates the reduplication of the stressed vowel: CVC > CVɁVC (CV-ɁV-C).
- Plural infix subject: they, vowel Ɂ vowel as in ƛ̓líɁip, they stopped from ƛ̓lip.
All words have only one primary or stressed vowel. The stress vowel is marked as á, é, í, ó, ú. When a word has only one vowel it is the primary vowel. As a rule only stressed root words should be marked to help learners identify and use the correct transitive form. This tool approximates the stressed vowel if you do not know which is marked.
